On family owned property on Route 44 in Putnam, CT, John Smith opened Smith Bros. Tube & Tire on Sept. 17, 2007. Smith Bros. Tube & Tire offers a large range of tire services – from lawn mower tires to trailer truck tires, agricultural tires, ATV, motorcycle, and all your vintage tire needs. We offer a large selection of tubes, patches, and plugs. We have state of the art equipment and offer every wheel weight made. We also offer aluminum rims, steel wheels in all sizes and makes, as well as manufacturers’ original equipment.

Three generations of Smiths have services your transportation needs. John’s great grandfather, Frank Henry Smith, built, owned, and operated a blacksmith shop in 1907 making wagon wheels and shoeing horses. John’s father, John Smith Sr., operated a tire truck while making Route 52 “395” and the Thompson Dam and other projects for many years. Now his sons continue in the tire business. John’s brother, Frank Henry Smith, will soon be joining the family business as partner.
